Harvest Service 2023

Harvest Service Sunday 8th October 10.30am

St. Peter’s Church will be holding its Harvest Service this Sunday in church on Sunday 8th October at 10.30am. Come along with us to enjoy and sing lovely harvest hymns and join us afterwards for coffee, tea and biscuits.

St Peter’s Harvest Appeal

This year, our donations will be going to The Well, at Kibworth.  Not only does The Well have a Coffee shop and a second hand shop, selling clothes etc; but a vital part of their work is the food bank.  They deliver parcels of much-needed food to families in the area struggling to make ends meet in these challenging times.

How you can support and donate

To this end, we have put out a collection station just inside the main door of the church. Please donate tinned food, such as tomatoes, beans, custard and rice or dry ingredients such as pasta and rice, breakfast cereals, biscuits, tea, coffee and similar essential items.

The Harvest collection will be delivered to The Well next week. We will also be making a cash donation to The Well to help buy such things as toiletries etc, such things which are not so frequently offered.

Donating funds and online donations

You can make a money donation by using the cashless Collectin terminal located near to the collection station. Simply choose one of the options suggested or choose your own amount and follow the instructions. Do give time for the machine to process your donation.

Online donations

Alternatively, you can also make a donation online using the button link below.

Ride and Stride at St Peter’s

Saturday 9th September 2022

Ride + Stride is the single largest source of income for many Historic Churches Trusts enabling them to make Grants to places of Christian worship. Taking place on the second Saturday of September the funds raised can be split between the nominated Trust and the participants chosen church or chapel.

As ever Ride+Stride is a wonderful way to enjoy getting out and about safely as well as raising much-needed funds to support Grant applications from churches and chapels across the county.

St Peter’s is delighted to be taking part again this year – so look forward to welcoming you on foot, bike or hoof! If you are a bicycle or horse rider or a walker (Shanks’s pony?!), you would be most welcome to join this lovely event, which benefits so many churches locally and around the country.

St. Peter’s is looking for families to take part in this year’s Ride & Stride fundraiser on Saturday 9th September. A number of churches around here will be open for you to walk, cycle or ride to during the day. Church Warden Sue Johnson 07964073813 & Roz Folwell have sponsor forms and a list of local churches to plan your route or go on the website https://www.lhct.org.uk/ride-and-stride
