St Peter’s is delighted to welcome you to this year’s Summer Tours and a talk by our own Maxine Johnson, Lay Incumbent on the Marian Martyr, Laurence Saunders. These events are held as part of the Leicestershire & Rutland Festival of Archaeology, a two-week celebration of history in our two counties.

Discover the tremendous history of the church and see an early medieval carved figure; learn about 18th Century eccentric and visionary William Hanbury, the first performance in a parish church of Handel’s Messiah and see the beautiful renovations designed by the architect Joseph Goddard.

Cream Teas run every Sunday afternoon now until the end of September at the Community Hall, just past the school on the right – St Peter’s is open to visitors as well, so take a tour and enjoy a tea!
Homemade cakes and scones available for purchase as well as plants and produce – Church open for visitors
